Ride Sharing in Duluth MNChatter about ride sharing services like Uber and Lyft finally making their way to the Duluth area has been on-going for what seems like forever. But according to a report from the Duluth New Tribune earlier this month, there seems to be some movement in the process, albeit slow movement, at best.

Before either company can finally have a presence in the Duluth community, the city must first get various ride sharing regulations in place, which is apparently something that won’t happen until the end of April at the very earliest.

As noted by the News Tribune, the Duluth City Councilor has been working closely with both Lyft and Uber regarding a ride sharing ordinance, which should be ready to be presented at the council’s next meeting on March 13th.

Vacant Lots For Sale in Hawk RidgeNew construction inventory has been one of the few challenges facing many larger markets across the country in recent months, and even here in the Duluth area to some extent. With mortgage rates still low and job growth all over on the rise, both home sales and home prices continue to rise in the early beginning of 2017, making it harder for some buyers to find and secure a new place to live.

If you’re specifically looking for a new construction home and aren’t finding something that fits your needs and wants that is already built, one alternative is purchasing a vacant lot and building your dream home from the ground up.

Like existing new construction homes themselves, finding a vacant home site in a location you want can also be a somewhat

Plans for a new $10 million housing development in Duluth’s Smithville neighborhood were released this week, which according to repots will include both apartment and a number of affordable townhouse residences as well.

Being called Grand Avenue Estates, the project features two individual apartment buildings, as well as 9 detached townhouse-style residences that should live more like a single-family home than anything.

Each of the new 67 apartments will be market-rate rental units, which is significant given how active development has been around this part of Duluth. Also noted by the Duluth News Tribune was that the The Department of Employment and Economic Development dished out $654,000 for an unexpected contamination clean-up effort in order

Duluth 5 Bedroom Homes For SaleIt takes a special kind of home buyer who wants or needs a five-bedroom home. First of all, most houses with five or more bedrooms often come at a premium, either because there aren’t that many available on the Duluth real estate market or because most fall into the luxury category, which means the home is not only equipped with a ton of extra living space but also plenty of other upscale finishes and features as well.

While five-bedroom homes are sometimes essential for large families, all that extra space also provides flexibility in a home and can be used for a variety of different purposes. If you work from home, setting up a functional home office or work space might be one direction to take; or if you’re someone who frequently hosts friends and

In terms of what to expect from the housing market next year, most industry experts are projecting continued growth in terms of sales and home prices, although at somewhat of a slower pace than what we saw in 2016. But before we look too far ahead into 2017, we still have a festive weekend ahead of us, which is why The Duluth

Duluth TourismAccording to a report released last week, 6.7 million people visited Duluth last year, resulting in a jaw-dropping $957 million impact on Duluth’s economy. The city hired Longwoods International to carry out the study, which is reported to have cost $20,000 to conduct.

As noted by Visit Duluth CEO Anna Tanski, the primary reason for the research investment is to better understand how visitors to Duluth are spending money so future marketing and planning efforts can go directly into making the city an even hotter tourist destination moving forward.

Key points in the study revealed the overall experience of visitors’ stay and the friendliness of its residents received the highest satisfaction rating for overnight visitors, which accounted for 2.3 of

Duluth Commercial Real Estate With the holiday season about to kick into overdrive, the residential real estate market in Duluth traditionally slows down a bit until after the new year, and usually until sometime after the Super Bowl. But as home buyers take a break from the daunting task of trying to find a new home in Duluth, the commercial real estate market often stays pretty active through the winter season, and this year appears to be no different.

Believe it or not, buying either a home or a commercial property towards the end of the year can have many advantages, as long as you don’t mind getting out and fighting the cold. But for the most part, a little snow and those chilly sub-zero temperatures rarely keep Minnesotans from getting things done, which no doubt includes

Duluth Brewery A new brewery is being planned for the old Timber Lodge Steakhouse in Duluth’s Canal Park neighborhood, according to recent reports. Being called Hoops Brewing, owners of the new brewery hope the spot will eventually become a destination spot where visitors can stop in to grab a quick beer while checking out other attractions in Canal Park and the rest of downtown Duluth.

Once built-out, Hoops Brewing will encompass about 9,000 square feet, which will include a small 250-seat taproom that will be housed inside the Timber Lodge Steakhouse space that was a downtown staple for decades.

According to local brewmaster Dave Hoops, Hoops Brewing will feature anywhere from 10 to 15 beers at a time, and instead of having an in-house restaurant, patrons will be

Duluth Pool Homes For SaleWe know—the fall season is coming to a close and another cold and snowy Minnesota winter is right around the corner. But despite Minnesota’s reputation for having some pretty harsh winters, the summers here are equally as delightful as the winters are dreadful. And don’t forget, our state’s nickname is the “land of 10,000 lakes,” so it shouldn’t be of much surprise that we love being out on the water the second the warm weather settles in for the season.

So with all that said, homes for sale with a swimming pool in Duluth aren’t terribly uncommon, and it’s usually one of those items on a wish list that home buyers either want, or don’t want. And if you’re a home buyer who happens to fall into the “wants a pool” category, now may just be the best time
