With back-to-school time upon us, our thoughts are turning to getting what’s needed to get our kids off to a good start in Duluth schools. This month, the Kris Lindahl Team salutes Stowe Elementary School, located in southern Duluth.

Stowe serves 366 students in grades K through 5 with a staff of 17 full-time teachers. The student/teacher ratio at Stowe is 21:1.

There are a lot of fun things going on in and around Duluth this month but we were able to narrow the calendar down to three events we consider “must-attends.”

Stanley Cup

Come see the Stanley Cup trophy up close at AMSOIL Arena today from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Go to Entrance E for free admission (although they hope you’ll drop a $5 donation). All donations benefit the UMD Hockey Scholarship program and the BetheMatch Bone Marrow Donor Program, Breast Cancer Research and Awareness.

 

Hoghead Festival

Now in its 40th year, the Hoghead Festival is going on now through Sunday at various venues around Proctor. If you’re new to the area, Hoghead is a celebration of Proctor’s railroad heritage. Some of the events you can enjoy include today’s

Duluth is full of so much beautiful scenery and the lakes are no exception. You can easily have a lake shore property with the large amount of lake life in the area. It’s what makes Duluth so beautiful; the scenic lakes and enjoyable waterfront activity available.

Once you decide to put your Duluth home up for sale you've got your work cut out for you. We've created this handy checklist to help you get organized as you prepare your home for the market. 

         Gather up some large, sturdy boxes – one for each room of the house.

         Label the boxes with the name of the room they correspond to and go through each room placing the clutter in the appropriate box.

         Check your cleaning supplies to make sure you have what you need and shop for what you’re missing.
