Happening this week for just the second year is Duluth’s new “Get Downtown Week” initiative, which is designed to promote small downtown businesses and the services and products they offer. This year, more than 30 downtown Duluth businesses are participating in the “buy one, get one free” promo that helps make “Get Downtown Week” such an awesome event, providing customers with great deals on food, drinks, shopping, and even entertainment as well.

Duluth’s “Get Downtown Week” started this past Sunday and will run through Saturday May 20th, so there’s plenty of time for local Duluth residents to get out and help support many of Duluth’s small businesses around the downtown area.

Just like last year, the Greater Downtown Council is hosting this

Kenwood Village Duluth One of Duluth’s highest profile new developments has officially made its debut, adding to the already vibrant and desirable atmosphere that surrounds the city’s rapidly evolving Kenwood neighborhood.

Dubbed Kenwood Village, the new project is a stunning mixed-use development that features 83 upscale apartment residences and 14,500 square feet of commercial space that will no doubt add to the growing list of community amenities for local residents and home owners to enjoy and take advantage of when calling this highly attractive location in Duluth home.

As noted in a recent update in the Duluth News Tribune, around 28 apartments have already been rented inside Kenwood Village and only one commercial space remains available as of the end of this

Ride Sharing in Duluth MNChatter about ride sharing services like Uber and Lyft finally making their way to the Duluth area has been on-going for what seems like forever. But according to a report from the Duluth New Tribune earlier this month, there seems to be some movement in the process, albeit slow movement, at best.

Before either company can finally have a presence in the Duluth community, the city must first get various ride sharing regulations in place, which is apparently something that won’t happen until the end of April at the very earliest.

As noted by the News Tribune, the Duluth City Councilor has been working closely with both Lyft and Uber regarding a ride sharing ordinance, which should be ready to be presented at the council’s next meeting on March 13th.

Free Bus Rides in Duluth on New Year's EveIt almost seems hard to believe but the end of 2016 has arrived and all the fun-filled festivities that take place every single New Year’s Eve in Duluth are finally upon us. Looking back at the year that was, 2016 was a very healthy year for the Duluth real estate market, as recent housing statistics show the median sales price around the Duluth area kicked up to $161,000, and the median rent price inched its way up to $1,365.

In terms of what to expect from the housing market next year, most industry experts are projecting continued growth in terms of sales and home prices, although at somewhat of a slower pace than what we saw in 2016. But before we look too far ahead into 2017, we still have a festive weekend ahead of us, which is why The Duluth

Duluth Brewery A new brewery is being planned for the old Timber Lodge Steakhouse in Duluth’s Canal Park neighborhood, according to recent reports. Being called Hoops Brewing, owners of the new brewery hope the spot will eventually become a destination spot where visitors can stop in to grab a quick beer while checking out other attractions in Canal Park and the rest of downtown Duluth.

Once built-out, Hoops Brewing will encompass about 9,000 square feet, which will include a small 250-seat taproom that will be housed inside the Timber Lodge Steakhouse space that was a downtown staple for decades.

According to local brewmaster Dave Hoops, Hoops Brewing will feature anywhere from 10 to 15 beers at a time, and instead of having an in-house restaurant, patrons will be

With the summer season now nearly over, we’re inching closer to the debut of Kenwood Village—Duluth’s new $36 million transformation of a corner that sits at West Arrowhead Road and Kenwood Avenue.

Back in early April, reports surfaced that nearly 75% of Kenwood Village’s retail space had been spoken for, and now just a few short months later, more tenants have been announced. According to the Duluth News Tribune, Einstein Brothers and a new brew pub will also be part of the new mixed-use development, which will also include 85 new apartments as well.

Along with the residential and commercial part of the project, nearly 200 parking spaces are also part of the plan, with half of those spaces being indoors. The new brew pub, which is still nameless and

New Coffee Shop in Duluth OpensAlthough it’s unlikely you haven’t yet noticed, a new coffeehouse has moved into the former Subway space at 4918 Grand Avenue and already it’s thriving. Open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day, Grand World Coffee in West Duluth serves up a array of specialty coffee drinks that are absolutely delighting early morning patrons, and the sandwiches, soups, salads, and pastries here are also pretty dang good too.

As noted in a recent Duluth News Tribune piece about Grand World Coffee, the owners are seeing a wide range of local customers walking through the door, ranging from business people working downtown to a pretty nice mix of people who work from home who just might be looking to take a quick break or get out of the house for a bit.
