There is NO WAY we’re ready to wrap up summer here in Duluth. There’s still plenty of time to get outdoors and enjoy the amazing weather while having fun. We’ve picked out a couple of September events that we think are worthy of a place on your calendar.
Run, Walk, Bark 5K
If animal rescue is a passion for you, don’t miss this event. Grab your dog and head out to the lake to run or walk on Saturday, September 5, at 10:00 a.m. You will both receive a bandana as you start and then end the race at Brighton Beach.
Participants will be charged $20 if they pay in advance, $30 the day of the event. The proceeds will be split between No Dog Left Behind and Animal Allies Humane Society. Find out more and register for the race here.
Twin Ports Bridge Festival
Head to Bayfront Festival Park on September 11 for a day full of fun, education and camaraderie. You’ll find all the festival staples, such as music, a dance party for kids and adults, community yoga, a brew tent and more. This year’s theme is “bullying,” so look for lots of information and resources. Get more information and view the festival schedule here.
Need more festival stuff? How about attending the Harvest Festival on September 12th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.? Sponsored by the Lake Superior Chapter of the Sustainable Farming Association, the fun takes place at Bayfront Festival Park in downtown Duluth.
Here you’ll find a huge farmers’ market, live music, crafts, exhibits and family activities. It’s not only free to park, but to get in as well. Learn more about the Harvest Festival here.
Duluth Balloon Festival
It’s a Festival-palooza this September in Duluth! You simply must hit the Duluth Balloon Festival, happening on September 18, 19 and 20. Enjoy the craft brew village and live music and watch the hot air balloon launch. Feeling brave? Take a tethered balloon “ride.”
The Color Run 5K 2015 Shine Tour is a part of this year’s festival and it, too, happens on September 20 at Bayfront Festival Park.
