West Duluth has plenty of lodging available to visitors and those locals looking for a fun getaway. West Duluth is considered the area tucked into the cozy little valley near the St. Louis River and Lake Superior. Since it’s located with the water on one side and the rolling hillside on the other, there are plenty of beautiful views, charming diners and excellent outdoor music venues.

You’ll have plenty of comfortable hotels to choose from that are near biking trails, river views and attractions like the zoo. If you’re looking for a place to stay in West Duluth, here is a look at some of the great choices.

Mountain Villas – 9525 West Skyline Parkway, Duluth

The Mountain Villas is the perfect place to stay year round. It’s the only lodging available on Spirit Mountain and it’s conveniently located off the highway along scenic Skyline Parkway. You’ll find it in southern Duluth in a wooded setting overlooking ski hills. Each villa is around 900 square feet in size including two bedrooms and baths, a living room with a sofa sleeper along with a full kitchen.

Comfort Inn West – 3900 West Superior Street, Duluth

Located right off of Interstate 35, you’re right by the beautiful Lake Superior and the Duluth International Airport. It’s the perfect location for those wanting to visit the Lake Superior Zoo, the Great Lakes Aquarium and the Duluth Heritage Sports Center.

They’ve actually been selected as 2011’s Platinum Hospitality Award winner for their excellent amenities. Enjoy the indoor pool, the whirlpool and sauna along with the free hot breakfast.
