The clean energy sector in Minnesota reportedly accounts for about 54,000 jobs statewide, and 1,527 of those jobs are right here in Duluth. And according to a release from Clean Energy Trust, which was based on analysis from the the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data as well as a comprehensive survey of thousands of businesses, another 2,300 jobs within this particular industry could be on the way this year alone.
A large percentage of Minnesota’s clean energy jobs are in wind, solar, and various energy efficiency-related businesses, and as a state that is among the most innovate when it comes to clean energy and a healthy environment, any investment Minnesota makes seems to be paying off big time from both a health and economic standpoint.
And positive results don't just stop there.
According to reports, wind energy costs have declined by a whopping 66% over the past 6 years, while solar costs have dropped by 53% since 2010, only driving further development and increased job growth all throughout Minnesota’s renewable energy industry.
So with such a positive outlook on the job-front all throughout the state, one can’t help but wonder how Minnesota’s thriving clean energy sector will benefit the Duluth real estate market moving forward?
While things certainly seem to be trending in the right direction, only time will tell from there.
